Storage Tips

*Opt for higher quality storage boxes or totes to protect your clothing or other valuable belongings. 

* Reinforce the bottom of the boxes with at least one strip of packing tape.

* Pack boxes firmly to prevent the contents from shifting.

Leaving a walkway through the center of your unit allows you to easily move around and locate your items.

Make an inventory list while packing to help remember where your items are located for easy access.  Also, make a list of packing supplies you'll need including bubble wrap, boxes, labels, packing tape, etc.

Place your most frequently used items near the entrance.

* Pack heavier items in small boxes and light items in large boxes.

* Avoid over packing boxes as they will be much harder to lift and carry. Never pack more than 30 pounds of books in a box.

* Stack chairs on top of one another to maximize space.

* Place blankets between surfaces to avoid scratches.

* Store large items such as sofas, appliances, mattresses vertically along the back of your unit to maximize space.
